M. Rashid Abbasi, M.D.

Dr. Muhammad Rashid Abbasi is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist at Oncology & Hematology Specialists, P.A. He earned his medical degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi and completed residency in Internal Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center through the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by fellowship training in Hematology & Medical Oncology at Montefiore Medical Center.

Following his fellowship, Dr. Abbasi served as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center and on faculty at Montefiore Medical Center, where he also chaired the Quality Assurance Program. He brings deep expertise in treating a broad range of malignancies and hematologic disorders, with research interests including lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and CNS lymphoma.

Dr. Abbasi leads the research department at OHSNJ, where multiple clinical trials are conducted and made available to patients. Compassion is central to his approach — he takes the time to explain options thoroughly and help patients and families make informed decisions. He has lectured at various institutions, received teaching honors including Morristown Medical Center Teaching Attending of the Year, and maintains an enthusiasm for educating fellows, residents, and medical students.

Dr. Abbasi sees patients at OHSNJ's Mountain Lakes office and rounds at the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center (Morristown Memorial Hospital) and at Saint Clare's Hospital, Denville and Dover campuses. He speaks English, Spanish, and Urdu.
